Salzburg Pear of Anguish
This project was part of my final studies at the National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford, England. The aim was to use the archaeological and conservation methodology to replicate a piece of historical ironwork. This method involves examining an object to determine the techniques and materials used and then making a reproduction using the original methods. I chose the Pear of Anguish because of its intriguing shape and history.
This Pear is currently housed in the Salzburg Museum in Austria. A full paper detailing the build is available on request.
